There are some absolute top Inverness events in May coming our way. Too many to put into a wee blog! So here are Inverness Taxis‘ top tips for Inverness events happening this May. There’s something here for everyone that’ll give you a right good day or night out in Inverness.

Ultra X Race at Loch Ness, 4th & 5th May

Ultra X Scotland is an event that takes place in the Scottish Highlands. An area known for its stunning scenery and trails, with the Great Glen and Loch Ness at its centre. It offers two races: Ultra X 110 Scotland and Ultra X 50 Scotland.

Following a geological fault line formed more than 400 million years ago, the Great Glen runs arrow-straight from Fort William to Moray Firth. Surrounded by some of the UK’s highest mountains and filled with four immense lochs, including the mythical Loch Ness, the glen is a unique wilderness rich in Highland heritage.

Ultra X 50 Scotland by Asics (50km single-stage race) takes place on the second day (Sunday) of Ultra X Scotland

Father Ted with Joe Rooney, 9th May, Eden Court

Celebrate one of the greatest sitcoms ever made with renowned stand-up Joe Rooney for a night of all things Father Ted!

Joe featured as the rebellious Father Damo in the classic Father Ted episode The Old Grey Whistle Theft. Leading Dougal astray with his earring, cigarette smoking and bad-boy attitude.

Joe will host a screening of the episode, take you behind the scenes and set you a Craggy Island quiz. Then prepare yourself for an all-inclusive ‘Lovely Girls Competition’: have you got the loveliest laugh, the loveliest walk, and can you make the loveliest sandwich?

There will also be a dancing priests competition. Plus appearances from a nursery-rhyme singing Ziggy Stardust, Nirvana, Johnny Cash and many more. And the evening wouldn’t be complete without a sing-along to ‘My Lovely Horse’!
