Lockdown Scotland – When Do Restaurants Open?

Scotland’s dozing hospitality industry is set to reawaken on the 26th of April with restaurants, bars and cafes are set to serve the parched patrons who have waited since Christmas for a pint in a pub or a risotto in an actual real-life restaurant.

The COVID restrictions in Scotland surrounding hospitality are set to be much the same as they were before this second wave rocked up and spoilt everyone’s night out.

The restrictions initially look like this:

Hospitality can:

  • Open indoors until 20:00 WITHOUT ALCOHOL
  • Open outdoors until 22:00 with ALCOHOL PERMITTED
  • Serve groups of up to 4 PEOPLE from 2 DIFFERENT HOUSEHOLDS

The rules should be familiar to us all now, but which Inverness Pub or local restaurant will you be heading come the 26th?

You will more than likely need to book your spot in your boozer or restaurant of choice, so we thought we would do some of the legwork and give you a wee starter for 10 into how, where and what you can book from the 26th in Inverness.

Lorimers Family Restaurant

Sam’s Indian Cuisine Inverness

Inverness Indian Takeaway at its best. Sam’s have been serving Inverness since the 80s and is a firm favourite for many visiting Inverness restaurants.

Book your table now for the 26th either online or call 01463 713111

Whichever of the restaurants in Inverness you choose to book there will of course be restrictions in place. As well as the ones mentioned above, you will of course be encouraged to observe social distancing rules and sanitise your hands regularly. The above changes will be the score right up until the 17th of May when the Scottish Government is due to relax more restrictions:

From the 17th of May:

  • Hospitality can stay open until 22:30 indoors with alcohol permitted, with customers being given two-hour slots
  • Serve alcohol outdoors until 22:00

We are on the road to returning to a state of identifiable ‘normality’, but all this is dependent on the virus being in retreat. Fingers crossed that we have seen the last of the lockdowns.
