A spooky ghost walk with tales of hauntings, witches, fairies, Jacobites and more….

Starting at the steps of the Old High Church Graveyard, Church Street, Inverness. So, why not Highland Paranormal’s co-found Liam Shand, as he takes you on a journey around his hometown.

This activity suitable for all ages (children accompanied). Please wear sensible footwear and appropriate clothing suitable for an evening walk.

Highland Paranormal are a non-profit group, and all proceeds from the walk are used to fund the group’s activities.

Wasps is back at Inverness Creative Academy in August for the Summer 2023 Market. Why not visit the beautifully restored former Inverness Royal Academy building over the weekend? There you can shop from talented artists and creators based across Scotland. Unique ceramics, painting, textiles, prints, jewellery and more will be on offer.

TruckNess “The Truck Show” is an event that I am sure that you are now familiar with, staged to celebrate the fantastic contribution made by the men and women working in the haulage industry in Inverness and The Scottish Highlands and Islands, and an opportunity to raise funds for Cash for Kids North Scotland.

The TruckNess Team works tirelessly to put on an event that will celebrate the work of all those who are involved in The Haulage Industry in The Highlands and Islands, and  a show that has a family feel to it and attracts entries from all over Scotland, and beyond.

 Thanks to the generosity of the public, and all our contributors, we aim to raise a significant amount of cash for our charity, Cash for Kids North Scotland.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Outdoor Theatre at Cawdor Castle

Join the HandleBards when they return to Cawdor Castle for a hilarious, high-octane production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Four young lovers find themselves lost in a magical forest, where the Fairy King and Queen are fighting for the possession of a changeling boy. A group of amateur actors head to the same forest to rehearse for a play. Humans and fairies collide and hilarity ensues.

Gates open 1 hour before the performance and ticket holders can walk amongst the splendour of the historic gardens before the performance starts. So pack a picnic, dress for all weathers and enjoy a marvellous evening of relaxed theatre this month at this top 5 of the best Inverness events this August.

Loch Ness

Are you fascinated by the legendary tales of Nessie, the elusive Loch Ness monster? Do you have a passion for unravelling mysteries and exploring the extraordinary?

Become a Monster Hunter Volunteer at this Inverness Events this month for an exciting quest, the biggest search of the Loch in 50 years!

The Loch Ness Centre have partnered with Loch Ness Exploration (LNE), an independent and voluntary research team, to search the famous waters of Loch Ness and uncover its mysteries.

We are looking for budding monster hunters to be involved in the weekend, taking place Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August, with the search being the biggest of its kind since the Loch Ness Investigation Bureau (LNIB) studied the Loch in 1972.
