The Gathering

4th September

The Inverness city centre festival plans to take place this September at the Northern Meeting Park. This family-friendly event celebrates the absolute best of the Highlands area and Scotland.

Acts due to perform at this year’s festival include Skerryvore, Wolfstone, Peatbog Faeries, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Torridon, Trail West, Rhythmnreel, and the City Of Inverness Youth Pipe Band.

Not only will the event feature a host of exciting traditional and folk-based artists, but there will also be a mini–Highland Games, theatre shows, magic shows, market stalls, street food, Scottish crafters, makers and many other foods and drink purveyors.

This one-day Inverness festival showcases the best of Scottish and Highland culture, and with it being held in the centre of Inverness it could not be more convenient for locals and for those wanting to sample Highland culture up close.

Adult tickets are £45, 6–15-Year-Old tickets are £30, kids 5-and-under go free!

You can also buy a family ticket which consists of 2 x Adult Tickets + 2 x 6–15-year-old tickets for £120.

Nairn Book & Arts Festival

4th – 12th September

Nairn Book and Arts Festival is back in 2021 for their annual celebration of literature, art, music, drama, and film in the Scottish Highlands.

Staged in the historic seaside town of Nairn on the beautiful Moray Firth, each year the festival presents a unique and innovative programme of events.

The wide-ranging festival has a very diverse programme that is sure to lure many Invernessians out to Nairn this month.

Macbeth

9th September

Cawdor Castle

Join The HandleBards all-female troupe at Cawdor Castle for a bicycle-powered, farcical production of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’.

This show has been described as a “frantic, delirious, full-of-beans show like you’ve never seen before”, so expect some frivolity.

This is an outdoor production, so feel free to bring a chair or blanket to sit on, a picnic to tuck into, and dress for that Highland weather!

Chairs, picnics, blankets are welcome at this event, so bring the family and make a day of it!

September Wildwoodz Open Air Market

11th + 12th September

Wildwoodz Inverness

The North of Scotland’s largest outdoor market will be back on September 11th & 12th.

Another 50 local crafters, food and drink producers will be setting up shop just past Tore at the Wildwoodz Inverness. From jewellery to gin, coffee to crafts, and everything in between – this open-air market has the best of local fare and crafts for you to browse and buy at your leisure.

Entry is £2 for adults with kids going free.

A Night of Manchester music with live performances from The Complete Stone Roses & Frankly, The Smiths plus Indie classics set from DJ Retro Dave!

Eden Court Theatre

The all-new, 11th solo show by Scotland’s international comedy star, hot on the heels of his ground-breaking, global smash-hit ‘Daniel Sloss: X’, comes to Eden Court Theatre this September!

Daniel is going strength to strength as he trots the globe appearing on stage, on TV and now in Inverness.
