Inverness Events – The Return of Monsterfest

Inverness Taxis previews the return of Monsterfest to the Inverness events’ calendar.

Monsterfest shakes off the shackles of the pandemic and returns to the Ironworks this November with a blistering line-up of rock gods and talented local acts.

Inverness taxis casts a beady eye over the line-up and what to expect this year from the festival of frenetic rock music.

Monsterfest Line-up

Welsh rockers Those Damn Crows are the opening headliners for the Inverness festival on Wednesday the 10th of November. Bringing the band to the Highlands this year has been a bit of a mammoth task with them being booked, cancelled, and then re-booked again because of scheduling and that dastardly pandemic.

Topping the bill for the weekend on Friday is the cult rock band, The Wildhearts. The legendary rockers who pack a punk punch join other big-hitting acts like FM and Marco Mendoza (of Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake). Other bands strutting the Monsterfest stage over the weekend will be Bad Touch, VEGA, Twister, JOANovARC, Chemia, and At The Sun.

They’ll be joined by local acts Electric Mother, Lucille, and the indomitable rock-rap roustabout The Vandal.

This year will also see festival fringe performances taking place in the Tooth & Claw and The Rose Street Foundry. Blues-infused sleaze rock band Bad Actress take to the recently air-conned dive bar The Tooth & Claw, and Marco Mendoza will play an acoustic set at the reinvigorated Rose Street Foundry.

The return of much-loved Inverness events like Monsterfest is a huge boost to the local live events in the Inverness scene, and we can’t wait to see more coming our way!
